Thankfully, Gianni is doing well. I'm going to try and get him to eat a little more today. No toddler should be subjected to a clear or full liquid diet. He doesn't eat soup (w/o noodles at least) or cream of wheat on a good day.
Then despite it being clearly marked on his files to dietary that he has dairy and egg allergies, they sent him cream of tomato soup. I didn't realize and tried to get him to eat some b/c the dr. on call that day wouldn't let him go home b/c he hadn't eaten. Take goodnees Gianni refused to eat it and only got some on his face. He still needed antihistamines to get rid of the hives. Thank goodness it wasn't more than that! Can you say lawsuit!
Thankfully he was fine and the dr. that was on call the day he was admitted was on call yesterday and let us go home. She was much more understanding about the diet and why he wasn't eating. I guess I have to find out how to complain about the dietary department from our peds dr. tomorrow at Gianni's follow-up appointment. There should be better alternatives for children and adults with allergies. You can't substitute lactaid for a child with milk allergies. It's lactose free but not milk protein free. DUH!!!! Okay, I'm done ranting.
